This course directs attention to the proper maintenance and installation of Yale locks and exit devices, and YALE and NORTON door closers. Includes hands-on installation exercises on mounts and full size doors. A discussion of hollow metal doors/frames and wood doors will help students identify products and recognize problems on openings. Levels of master keying and keying nomenclature will be discussed. Basic electrified hardware is explored as the student will learn the four operating components each system requires. Subjects Covered: - Proper adjustment methods for YALE products - Functions, features, and designs of YALE products - RIXSON floor closers and pivots - Basic master keying, terminology and standardized symbols - Hollow metal doors and frames - Wood doors - Basic electrified hardware Who Should Attend: - Facility maintenance personnel - Distributor personnel - Institutional locksmiths - Door Security Solutions personnel Course Level: This is a Level One course designed for beginners or students with basic door and hardware knowledge.
